Five male Ivory Coast frogs and two females were obtained from the Geneva colony in 1990 by Enrique Amaya and Marc Kirschner. These frogs were bred and then animals were sent to the Grainger lab at the University of Virginia where an inbreeding program was initiated. These animals have undergone multiple generations of inbreeding.
